I think it would be nice to be able to request a specific version of PlantUML when rendering for this forum. This would allow for an example to not break down over time.
Two possible concerns would be :
1) However, there is the concern that a security update has been added since that version, in which case maybe that version wouldn't be allowed anymore and the render would then just note that X was requested but Y version actually had to render it since X has been force deprecated due to security issue.
2) May take extra storage memory for each version
