At first I want to thank you for your great work with PlantUML. It's perfect tool to work with UML, and it's integrated in so many products! I have two questions for you.

I translated official PDF manual to 99% to Russian, and i found a bug in translation functionality. I can't edit  4th sentence there: http://translate.plantuml.com/ru?n=creole&s=1 it's just reloadts the page with English text in it. Also I found some places where text in English just does not appears in right side to translate.

And the most interesting question: how can I participate in portal translation? I see that i translated PDF, but interface of the site is not translated and also in links at header, there is many untranslated texst? that duplicates PDF's texts.

Looking forward for cooperation, Filatov Ivan.

First,

Thanks for having taken the time to do translations : we know it's a very long time consuming task!

About the bug, we're going to look at it. We'll post a message here when this will be fixed (not sure when...)

About translation, the situation is complicated :-)

For your understanding, I'd better explain you the history of this whole process....

At the very beginning, PDF documentation (build in LaTeX) and Web Site (HTML) were completely independant, and only in English.
So texts were duplicated in two separate sources.

Then, we had the idea to propose a way for people to translate the PDF documentation to several languages. We did not find any 100% web based solution, so we built our own (that is http://translate.plantuml.com/ )

Then we realized that maintaining a PDF documentation and a HTML web site was too time consuming, and since we had some translation, we could inject this into the website.
However, as you mention, only some texts are translated (see http://ru.plantuml.com/ ) because the remaining English text does not appear in the PDF documentation.

Now our problem is that our translation system has really be designed to be LaTeX oriented. And its main advantage is that it creates automatically a PDF file, and this is very useful for translators.

We might extend our translation system, to integrate other HTML labels, even if it needs some rework.

It would be easier for us if we start by only on page, so I let you choose between:
http://ru.plantuml.com/starting.html
http://ru.plantuml.com/faq.html
http://ru.plantuml.com/faqinstall.html
... or any other page you'd like to translate.

Finally, I must say that we are very busy right now, so it may take time to put all this in place: please do not be impatient! :-)

Thanks again for your translation!

Arnaud
