I would like also this feature, because graphml editor (yed) have very nice layouting features.

I have often trouble to make layout look "nice" in plantuml. Using yEd and its "organic" layouting would imho solve many of my issues. For deployment diagram, yEd has "hierarchical" layout which would work.
