Who is behind PlantUML?

Hello everybody,

I really enjoy PlantUML! I convinced my colleagues to use it for our day to day tasks (not a difficult job;-)) and I use it in my personal life as well. What I'm curious about is:

• What people or companies are behind the project?
• How did the project start?
• Who support it?
• Who is the author of the idea or leading strategist? Whatever you call it ...
• Is donation model enough to keep it above water?
• Are there any other revenue sources (like commercial services) available or planned?
• Is it possible for a commercial company to become an official supporter?

Hopefully, you now know what I want to know. :-) I miss "About" page. I went through the site quickly, but haven't found anything on this topic. If there is a page answering these questions, you might add it to the main page

So many answers are in the interview!

The donation/crowdfunding model is interesting, because it costs almost nothing to individual. But small streams make big rivers.

It is possible for a commercial company to become an official supporter (we have some ideas here), so you can contact us by email if you are interested :-)
