Hide participants not linked on current page

Question

I have some large sequences with multiple participants that I wish to split into multiple pages for easier accessibility. However, all participants are still displayed on all pages, which is not desirable.

I want something like "hide unlinked" but one that has effect per-page (so if nothing on current page references a participant, the participant is not rendered).

I think I remember reading in another Q&A that to do it you must add the hide unlinked for every page.

All the participants (even those without any links on a page) still show up if I repeat the "hide unlinked" instruction on each page.
