AsciiMath in Plantuml does not render $ correctly

On http://asciimath.org/ the expressions

color(#ff6820)"$abc"/color(#ff6820)("abc"_$)

or

f_12^("$I")

or

f_12^"$I"

will be rendered correctly, but it seems the plantuml has a problem with $

Can you correct this?
