using multiline node with sided mindmap nodes?

Since Summer 2019 the mindmap notation supports the multi line node syntax.

When I try to combine this with the syntax to place nodes on left/right side,
then i receive a syntax error and the diagramm is not rendered.
I am using PlantUML Version 1.2017.15

Is the multiline node only compatible with a regular node e.g. '*' and not with '-' or '+'?
Am I missing something?

Should i use another version?

Please provide always a small example.

For the version I think it is 1.2020.15

  • How to put "l3.1 l3.2" below "l2" on left?
    If we put '--', we observe Syntax Error...

Just a workaround:

@startmindmap
+ root
**:r1.1
r1.2;
++ r2
left side
-- l1
-- l2
**:l3.1
l3.2;
@endmindmap
