Java code to parse plantuml activity diagram and listen to the parsing events

I would like to know, if I can use the plantuml activity diagram as a workflow notation (simplified activity sequencer). So ideally I would parse the Activity Diagram and listen to the parsing events like it can be done with a SAX parsers of XML I tried to find an example, I even asked ChatGpt, but I could not get a meaningful result, so I would appreciate any help.
