Installed the Word template, can edit diagrams in that but in other docs get error

Question

I installed the WOrd template according to the instructions it contains (putting the tempate in %appdata%\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP)

If I load that template, I can edit the example diagrams it contains

But when i select (say) Show PlantUML in any other document, I get "the macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your Macro security settings".

I think it's the first  (not found) as I have macros set to always enabled.

Any ideas?

Actually, it's worse. I get the error (twice) when I just start Word with a blank document.

 

I do get PlanUML in the ribbon, so the template's clearly being seen, but presumably WOrd can't find the macros.

 

Any ideas?
