includeurl with authentication

We want to put a library of macros in a private gitlab installation. For this to work:

is it possible to extend includeurl to work with SSL and authentication? (http://forum.plantuml.net/3115/includeurl-not-supported-by-plantuml-com-proxy-service shows it doesn't work with SSL)
What is a good place to put the credentials? I think it should be a command-line or config file option, but not in puml files.

PS: Github has preview integration: https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/administration/integration/plantuml.html but I don;t think it solves my problem...
