Is it possible to add a file to a sequence diagram?

I'm new to this.
Seems like participants and files cannot co-exist in the same diagram.
Is that correct or am I missing something?

You are correct. File can only be used in component diagram right now.

However, if there is a real need here, we could allow them in sequence diagram (if this is what you are looking for)

I mean it occurs to me maybe I just don't know UML and I wouldn't suggest the tool be changed because of that but there are a couple of improvements that I'd suggest.

1. Have a "Possible Elements" list documented in each diagrams documentation.
2. Improve the error message when you mix elements from different diagrams. I'm just getting "Syntax Error?". I'd actually like to be made to identify the diagram I'm intending to create at the top of my wsd file.
