Medium diagram consuming a lot of memory

Question

Using around 250 participants inside a box to generate a diagram is taking more than 4GB of RAM. Is this an expected behavior? It seems to be such a lot of memory for this amount of participants. Will the memory usage be exponential increasing with more participants or is there any limit for the PlantUML memory consumption?
