How to handle large class diagrams?

I can generate class diagrams from my code. This lead to issues with large source files (45 KB) that seems to break the online server. Which approach should I take to reduce the file size?

and should not PlantUML abort gracefully, It says the resource is temp. unavailable...

Unfortunately, the online server uses GET protocol and there is a limit for URL size (about 2 KB I think).

Even if the text is compressed in the URL (see http://plantuml.com/pte ) there is a limit here. And 45 KB is too big.

You can either:

• use !includeurl (see http://plantuml.com/preprocessing ) to host your text somewhere and then include it
• run PlantUML locally
